Ok I think everyone here knows that the german version of hl1 has very...interesting censoring.
For example, you don't kill people, they just sit down and shake their heads.
The soldiers are robots.
You kill aliens, sure, but no gibbing nor blood.
The barnacles drop gears when they gib something.
The scene where Freeman gets knocked out and carried to the trash compactor has different audio. The robot-soldiers say "Eliminate.Otherwise the target will try to escape.Where should we bring Freeman?Let us just get rid of him now. But what if other bio-entities find his body?There will be nothing left. *robot laughing by basically having different frequenzies*"
Also the scene where you sneak up on two has them talk about who freeman is, what his role in the scenario is, that he killed robots and that he will pay for what he has done. Buuut of course it's with computer like speech.
Also also, the VOX system...isn't robotic.
YOU HAVE ROBOTS THAT SOUND ROBOTIC SO YEAH, NO BLOODY VOX SYSTEM THAT SOUNDS LIKE TTS!
Also also, the tram ride isn't a smoothening female voice, but a raspy german guy.
Also also also, there was a "DLC" for the german steam version after the government allowed it to be more brutal...well they fixed the models buuut the audio is still the robotic shit. Also the gibbing still isn't there and the scientists and guards still sit down after getting shot.
Basically, soldies with robot voices.
Fun fact: Try playing TFC with the german version. They replaced the player models with robots-except the civilian actuallly. Thank god the voice-lines aren't computerised.
Oh and the hazard course is a complete audio nightmare. The sentences are too long so they get cut off by the scripted events.

Half-Life 3 should be Surprise Released

It's now been 15 years since Half-Life 2, and 12 years since Episode 2. We haven't had a full game or any HL content at all from Valve for over a decade, so exceptions and hype for a third entry will be too high and because of that I think a normal marketing roll out for the third game won't work in the game's favor.

I think Half-Life 3 should be released as a surprise on any random day it's ready. Just one day you open up Steam and there it is on the front page. Nobody expecting a thing. Valve could put out a launch trailer on YouTube the day of release too, but that's it. No marketing, no press, no gameplay, just boom- here it is.

Think about it. If any company could surprise release a game and still have amazing sales it's Valve, the creators of Steam. Also Half-Life 3 has been long awaited for so many years, and the meme it has become makes it the perfect candidate for an unannounced and unconventional release. I'm confident the Half-Life name, the powerhouse that is Valve, and the jokes/anticipation surrounding the idea of a third game would result in overwhelming success in a surprise drop. It would be a phenomenon in the gaming industry.

A hugely awaited game developed in secret, released to fans unexpectedly. That's just my idea for the third game, what do you guys think?
