[HL:A] Who else likes this part of the level?

The part at the Northern Star with that giant power station. Who else likes it? I can stand there for hours watching the power station do it's charging-up thing and then it makes a badass guitar riff. So damn cool to watch!

    ...just me?

How much Portal should be in Half-Life? (Discussion may contain spoilers)

    Posted: 06 May 2020 02:56 PM PDT

With the future of the series looking brighter than ever, I've been thinking about where things can go from here.

If we finally do get a game that takes place after Episode 2, we'll likely be seeing the Borealis.

My question is- How much of the Portal universe do you want to see in Half-Life? Would you want it to all be lightly sprinkled throughout, or do you want actual appearances by GLaDOS and other Portal characters?

I can never tell for sure. I feel like giving Gordon a Portal gun and having GLaDOS involved may make Half-Life lose some of its identity, while at the same time, I really enjoy crossovers and I'd love to see how Aperture is dealing with the Combine.

I'm honestly just expecting some light easter eggs and cameos. While exploring the Borealis, I'm expecting maybe some Portal-like imagery, maybe a mention of Cave Johnson and GLaDOS by Kleiner, and a few other fun details.

How would you handle Portal content in Half-Life?

Do you want karma? All you have to do is make an HLVRAI reference. But seriously I'm glad so many people like that series I remember watching the act 1 stream and dying of laughter and I'm glad other people feel the same

Solving the inventory problem. It might be a waste of time every time I drop it but it's fun to lob endless grenades.

    Headcrab Zombies throughout the years

    Posted: 06 May 2020 04:17 PM PDT

Am i the only one who thinks headcrabs are the cutest things in the world?

    Posted: 06 May 2020 07:16 PM PDT

When i first heard of headcrabs(way before i actually played half life or watched any footage)i actually thought that they were pretty scary. The idea of a small but fast creature who could jump, latch onto your head and take over your body was definitely not cute to me back then or even now, but once i actually played half life i realised that they were so much cuter than i had ever thought. Now, here are the reasons why i think that headcrabs are cute(these only apply to the regular headcrab, not the poisonous headcrab or the fast headcrab):

    1. The sounds they make.

    2. Their chubby, huggable bodies.

    3. Their walk cycle (just the way they move around with their tiny little back legs and their claws floating above the ground, as if to say "hi" to you.

    4. Lamarr (because the only thing keeping the normal headcrabs away from total cuteness was the fact that they're trying to kill you and take over your body, so a pacific, innofensive headcrab that was also Doctor Kleiner's pet is exactly what they needed).

Apart from this being just a post asking people about wether or not i'm some kind of headcrab loving weirdo, i would want people that also think headcrabs are cute to use this post as a medium to express themselves and talk with others about their thoughts on these beautiful creatures. And if you don't think headcrabs are cute, then you can still use this post as a way to debate with others about this same subject.

PD: I'm not a native english speaker so sorry for any writing or gramatical errors.

    Theory about Hl Alyx Antlions

    Posted: 06 May 2020 06:00 PM PDT

I was really pissed off at first when i encountered the Antlions in HLA, they're vastly different, slower, heavier, and glowing at some parts of their body, but then i thought, what if the HLA's Antlion nest was some kind of farm of the Combine ? Think about it, the farm is really close to a big Combine base and they're milking them (The Antlions) that would explain why they're heavier and glowing like they were intentionally fattened to be more productive, like what's happening to cows in real farms, and they're likely using this farm to produce the grubs for healing, and the milking for some other reasons we don't know but it's obvious in HL that the Antlions can produce healing and medical stuff, what do you think about this ?
