Just beat Black Mesa, and I'm very excited to try out Half Life 2! Posted: 11 Nov 2020 03:22 PM PST I know, I know. Black Mesa is great, but it's not a replacement for my first time playing Half Life. I admit, I played Half Life about a year ago, or at least tried to, but never was able to finish it. I won't get into why, but generally I just can't finish older looking 3D games. Sometimes I have trouble finishing new ones! Anyway, I took a break from Half Life and never returned. Two days ago I finally decided to download Black Mesa after grabbing it on sale, and I blasted through it! It took me less than 3 days total to finish the game, and when I was playing I could NOT stop. I did my due diligence and researched the differences between HL1 and BM aside from the graphics, and although I missed out on some gameplay and design choices from the original Valve devs, I'm so happy that I finally experienced the story! I've spent YEARS hearing just how important the series was, and felt a bit like a "fake gamer" having never played it! I'm looking forward to Half Life 2, and to trying out the gravity gun. (I think I might wait 13 years before playing Alyx, for the full experience, but we'll have to see) PS: Should I play Opposing Force before 2? Or is that not worth it. [link] [comments]

Unused/Unreachable Pistol Ammo in Half-Life Alyx? Posted: 11 Nov 2020 11:11 PM PST Was playing through the game for the 3rd time on Hard difficulty and I found this seemingly unreachable ammo location. I noticed that with effort, I could clip my hands through the door area. This was in Chapter 5. https://youtu.be/jCbRLjtFLLc [link] [comments]
