    Half life 2 ending Breen’s dialogue

    One of the most fascinating wonder inducing lines. I havent played HLA but I've seen the G Man scene at the end. Where he/it shows Alyx that gas giant with a weird flesh cloud looking stuff. I feel Breen's dialogue is maybe connected?

    Also are the concepts of "meteorological intelligences" and "sentient fungi" referencing something else?

    The only thing I can think of is something in the game Stellaris where there are Gas clouds, Crystal formation and other bizarre entities that challenge young space faring civilizations. However these are not sentient in the way Breen means, nor like the Combine. They're more "feral" if anything since the game doesn't allow you to communicate with these beings.
