| Anyone noticed this "room" in HL: Alyx? Posted: 18 Apr 2021 07:05 PM PDT After shooting the lock that Russell had the key for, turn left and vault over this pile of I beams. Once on top, turn left and vault over the barbed wire onto the truck. Turn right and jump down to the ground. Continue between the rear of the next truck and the fence. Walk on to the ground where the surface texture changes. Continue to the edge of the building and stand in line with the pole on the street. [link] [comments] | ||

| Finished chapter one of my novel! Posted: 18 Apr 2021 06:12 PM PDT Chapter one: Point insertion As the train came to a halt the other two citizens got up and then one said "Well end of the line." and both citizens got off the train then Gordon Freeman got off. Then a nearby city scanner welcomes him into city 17 by blinding him by taking a photo to show the civil protection units of city 17. Then he sees the black mesa administrator Wallace Breen on a large screen he is confused why he is up there but moves on. Then he sees a Vortigaunt sweeping up some trash and a civil protection officer was supervising it. Then Gordon walked past it and saw some more citizens then he saw that they have to leave their suitcases behind so he put his down and walked through a revolving door to the hub of the train station. Then he chose to proceed to the line where everyone else is going well, the ones that have the will to carry on. Gordon was then guided to a Razor train that would lead to someplace called "Nova Prospekt" but then the gate closed and then a civil protection office told Gordon to follow him. Then Gordon was led to an interrogation room and then the Civil protection officer was asked by another officer "Need any help with this one?" then the officer replied with "Nah I'm good." Then the other officer left the room then the officer walked over to the combine computer and turned off the cameras in the room and then revealed himself to be Gordon's old friend from Black mesa Barney Calhoun. Then Gordon had to escape from the backroom window then he made it to the plaza via the basement. Then he saw a civil protection unit knock over a can and said to Gordon "pick up that can" Gordon picked it up and then he said "now put it in the trash can" Then Gordon's instinct was to throw it at the cop but then he had no idea what would happen so he just obeyed him and put it in the trash. Then the cop said "alright you can go." then Gordon walked into a large room with lines of citizens getting rations then he walked outside and was shocked at the sight before him a tall tower taller than any he had ever seen before he saw civil protection patrolling the streets and he came across two civilians in a building and a civil protection officer searching them and another with an SMG. He saw a strider walking so tall he could see it from the other side of the combine wall. Then he saw an alleyway he climbed up a ladder to get to the other side Then he came across some other civil protection searching some citizens. He then went into an apartment building and then had an unwelcome surprise. He went into one of the rooms and then saw civil protection units running into the building and he then had to get out of the building he then ran into rooms to get to the top floor where a citizen let him in and closed the door and told him to get to the rooftops. So he did and heard down the stairs gunshots after the door burst open then he saw a few combine gunships flying somewhere and noticed that two civil protection officers followed him and were shooting at him. Then he noticed that civil protection units were down on the streets shooting at him but he managed to get into a window of another building. Then when he entered the stairs collapsed after he went down them and he was ambushed by a squad of civil protection officers. Then he heard someone's voice as followed by the civil protection officers gunshots and he was awoken by a resistance member Alyx Vance who had rescued him and said "Dr.Freeman I presume" then they went down an elevator to go to Dr.Kleiner's lab [link] [comments] | ||

He caused the resonance cascade without thinking about the ensuing combine invasion, resulting in his loss of our earth, a world presumably already controlled by G-man.
