Secret Health and Ammo Pickups in Half Life 1 Posted: 28 Jul 2021 06:01 PM PDT Half Life: - Unforeseen Consequences: Shortly after the resonance cascade, you reach the end of the corridor where you see an elevator with scientists in it collapse. Go down to where the elevator crashed and you will find an HEV battery. - Unforeseen Consequences: Go back to the locker rooms where you picked up the HEV suit and you will find an open locker with an HEV battery. - Unforeseen Consequences: When you go back to the entrance, use the crowbar to hit the panel to open the door back to where you reached the Anomalous Materials lab. Continue forward to find ammo near a dead security guard where a scientist is stuck on the walkway. - Office Complex: When you reach the first room with the sentry gun, crawl under it to turn it off then get to the previous hallway where you used the two boxes to climb up the ladder. Push the small box back to the sentry room and jump up to where the sentry gun is to get some health. - Blast Pit: Before riding an elevator up to where the tentacles are, there is a radioactive pool with two Bullsquids. You will notice some health kits and HEV batteries on the left corner that are out of reach. Follow the rim of the silo to reach a walkway where they are. - On A Rail: Shortly after the beginning of the level, you go down the elevator while on the train. In the first level where you ride the train, there is a small pool of water with leeches in it and you can follow an opening to a dead security guard with ammo. - On A Rail: At some point, you will reach an area where you go down some stairs on foot and witness a fight between the HECU and the Vortigaunts. Underneath the stairs, you can break a box to reveal an opening underground. Follow it to find a dead soldier and some health and ammo. - On A Rail: You will reach an area where the rail goes up and then down over a small pool of water surrounded by Barnacles. Jump in the water to get some ammo near a dead soldier. - On A Rail: At some point, you will reach an area where the HECU are fighting with the Vortigaunts and there is a bunker ahead. You find some vending machines where headcrabs will drop from the ceilings. Use the wooden boxes to jump up where the headcrabs came from to find some HEV batteries. After that, go up a small ramp near the bunker to find another HEV battery. - Surface Tension: After shooting down the Osprey, you go down a ramp where an Alien Grunt will come down underneath the big gun. Go to where the grunt came from to open a door back to the previous armory. Go back to get the security guard and let him follow you to a door underneath the gun. He will open the door where you can find health and HEV charging stations. - Forget About Freeman: Before going down the drain after killing the two Vortigaunts and turning the valve, jump in the water to pick up ammo and HEV batteries near a dead soldier. - Lambda Core: Just before going to the final teleportation room, there is a dark corner where headcrabs are coming from. In that corner, you will find an HEV battery. - Gonarch's Lair: After you reach the second area and Gonarch leaves to the third area, there is a small hole in the ground where you can go down to get ammo and find a healing pool. Opposing Force: - Welcome To Black Mesa: When you go outside, you will reach an area with some water below. There is a ladder that can take you down to the water. Explore that area to find a dead soldier with ammo around him. - We Are Pulling Out: After seeing the first Shock Trooper, you will reach an area with an elevator. Before going up, go back to get the security guard and he will open the door to a small armory. - Missing In Action: Shortly before encountering the first Pit Drones, you will reach an area where there is a soldier crawling out and warning you. Before proceeding, there is a vent under where you came from where you can go in and find ammo near a dead soldier. - Vicarious Reality: At some point, you reach a hallway with a small storage room on the left and a malfunctioning door on the right. There is a small box behind the malfunctioning door that contains an HEV battery. - Vicarious Reality: After killing a Pit Drone and a Shock Trooper in the corner near the end of the level, go up the elevators killing more Pit Drones and a Shock Trooper behind a door. Continue to another room to find wooden boxes with ammo and HEV batteries. - Foxtrot Uniform: After emerging out of the Voltigore nest, you will encounter a Shock Trooper with explosive tanks behind it. Shoot them to open up a container with grenades and satchels. - The Package: Immediately after jumping in the water in the beginning of the level, turn back and climb the rocks. Follow them to find a dead soldier and some ammo. Blue Shift: - Duty Calls: When you reach an area with valves and steam pipes before the control room where you call down the elevator with the explosive box, go up the first ladder and use the valve to turn off a steam pipe below. Then go down the second ladder and use the valve to turn off the steam pipe above. Before going back up, proceed forward to a dead end to pick up the shotgun near a dead scientist. - Focal Point: When you reach the large pool in Xen, dive deep underground until you reach the bottom. Use the crowbar to destroy the wall with a crack in it. Go through the opening to find the Chumtoad's lair where you can pick up Snarks. [link] [comments]

Half-Life needs a chapter select just like Sven Co-Op's. Posted: 28 Jul 2021 05:47 PM PDT Sven Co-Op runs on GoldSrc, the same engine as the original Half-Life. But unlike Sven Co-Op, Half-Life doesn't have a chapter select. I hope somebody is willing or able to create a mod that adds a chapter select just like Sven Co-Op's to the original Half-Life trilogy. If Sven-Co-Op can have a chapter select with GoldSrc, so can Half-Life. [link] [comments]
