Did the Gene Worm actually die? Posted: 25 Jan 2020 07:24 PM PST Somehow I never thought of this until now: when you beat the Gene Worm it crawls backwards through the portal and then just disappears. I always assumed it died, but could it still be alive but still trapped in Xen or whatever? [link] [comments] | ||
Posted: 25 Jan 2020 02:35 PM PST I've been thinking about this for a couple of days and I have a couple of reasons why that's true and also to the contrary. For: -Gordon does have a HUD - When the suit is fully charged and your health is at max, Gordon can take a direct hit from a rocket, or a grenade/satchel charge explosion right next to you without dying. No sudden nerve trauma or balloon effect on the head at all. If he doesn't have a helmet how does he survive this? - Headcrabs have a really hard time taking Gordon over, you practically eat those things for breakfast, I mean if he doesn't have a helmet, the first headcrab that got to jump on him should've been his end, like the case was witb all the other poor sods we see throughout the games. Hell, the amount of times he got hit by a bullsquid's spit in the face, the amount of toxic spit he must have swallowed during Half Life 1 should have caused his slow and painful death. Against: -We nevet see Gordon actually donning his helmet -Gordon doesn't have a helmet in every single official promotional art for the game. So what's going on with this? What do you think? I think this might be a case of "no actual canon, everyone can go with whatever they like and it's all valid". [link] [comments] |
