    In Half-Life's 'bad ending', could the Vortigaunts have saved Freeman? If so, what could have happened next?

    Just something I've been speculating on; you know how at the end of Half Life (and Black Mesa), if you refuse the G-Man's offer then he sends you to a room full of Alien Grunts (with no weapons)?
    It's established in Half Life 2 that when the Nihilanth was killed, the Vortigaunts were freed, and they've shown the ability (as of Episode 1) to counter the G-Man and teleport Gordon and Alyx.

    So that leads me to wonder; since the Alien Grunts don't attack immediately, if the Vortigaunts are in rebellion already, would it be possible for them to rescue Gordon from the 'battle he has no chance of winning'?
    If so, what kind of effect could that have on the plot of the Half Life universe?

    Is the G-Man talking to Black Mesa scientists at the beginning of HL1 considered canon?

    You can see him on a tram with a scientist, and in an office type room having a discussion with another scientist. Are these encounters considered canon?

    He was just an assistant on the test by pushing that Xen crystal into the Anti-Mass Spectrometer. It's not like he planned that test at all and nobody could predict about the Resonance Cascade happening, so he couldn't voluntarily refuse to do it.

    How Close to the Lambda Complex Was Freeman before he was Captured at the end of Apprehension?

    Exactly as the title says. How close was Freeman to the Lambda Complex right before he was apprehended by the HECU? I can't find a clear answer to this anywhere. Is there an answer at all or is it purely speculation?

    Found this while cleaning out my office. Old Computer Gaming World disc with Half-Life mods from 2001

    This takes me back. I remember getting this in a magazine forever ago. Playing most of these mods for the first time - so much fun. Scientist Hunt was a blast. So - figured I would upload it to the internet for some preservation and to share with you guys. Picture of the disc & menu (don't have to use the menu) below as well as a link to the disc rar'd up.
