    r/HalfLife Has Hit 100K Subscribers!

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone here, making this the subreddit the best and largest fan-run discussion board focused on Half-Life.

To those of you who are new, welcome! To those of you who have been here during the darker times, we're happy we can share this experience together! As we approach the release of Half-Life: Alyx we expect the subreddit to reach more fans than ever. This is a strange but good feeling for a franchise that was in stasis for so long.

More recently, we were gifted when Valve's Half-Life: Alyx team held an AMA in our cozy subreddit. Thanks for being here so far, and we can't wait to see what the future brings.

On behalf of the r/HalfLife Mod Team, thanks for being here and we'll see you around!

Whipped up a recoloring of the Combine soldier in this concept art to reflect the redesign that's happened since the trailer. Didn't include the new insignias on their arms because I can't really draw, but you kinda get the idea of what they'll look like.

How many HECU did the Military send to Black Mesa?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 07:24 PM PST

Had a debate with my dad and my friend about how much HECU send to Black Mesa. This includes

    Black Mesa/Half Life

    Opposing Force

    Blue Shift

Every other side games involving Black Mesa

Every Black Mesa related mod you played that could be consider canon or headcanon.

Any remaining HECU that we don't get to see die on screen. <-- this will determine the majority of the amount I'm guessing.

So all three of us have agreed that Black Mesa is huge, probably the size of New York City but also goes deep underground. They were trying to take back the giant facility forcefully so they must have send a lot cause that's a lot of ground to cover. They would had send even more once they know a massive alien threat was present.

My Dad thinks it's around 5,000.

My friend thinks it's more like 100,000

    And I think it's around 10,000.

Now your turn, how much do you guys think were send to Black Mesa?

Just wondering, if he had defeated Gordon would things have been different or would the Combine have invaded and destroyed him and taken over Earth anyways?
