    What are some of your favorite tidbits from the final hours?

    One of the original endings that was pushed was you literally going back in time to stop Gordon from putting the Xen crystal into the test chamber. It essentially would have been an end to Half-Life.

    I really wonder how long they considered this ending for. They surely would have known how pissed off the community would have been, right?

    However, one of the other endings, the "red door" ending, which takes you through some (probably remade in Source 2) scenes from the previous Half-Life games. This is where the picture of GMan with his head down on the table comes from.

    All of the previous iterations of the game we got sounded really "out there". I was really thrown off by them stating that HL3 was originally like Left 4 Dead, with randomly generated floors, rooms, and enemies in an apartment complex. Anything else you found really interesting or out of place?

    How can there be any Resistance in Half Life 2?

    I've been wondering lately, Combine is a force so technologically advanced that they managed to subdue the entire planet's military in less than a day. How could Resistance exist in such an environment? Surely they will have a surveillance system that would squash any rebellion before it even begins. How could rebels start a full scale war in the City 17 if Combine can constantly pull reinforcements through the portals?
