    Am I missing anything from playing Black Mesa for the Half Life experience?

    Bought it from the summer sale and currently playing through it. I have never played through the original Half Life, but did play through Half Life 2 and all of its episodes from the Orange Box then Half Life Alyx recently.

    Black Mesa is a complete remake of Half Life, right? I recall reading that Xen is improved compared to the original? I'm nine hours in and at chapter 8 On A Rail, seems like a long game? I'm not used to the Vortigaunts being enemies. I also have to get used to the enemies moving really fast like in an arena shooter. The soldiers do seem really accurate with their SMGs at a far off distance though; it made me think they had rifles or something when I first faced them.
