    I'm replaying hl2 in smod and near where breen drops the super gravity gun I can't pick it up. thus leaves Alyx on a loop of saying "Pick it up Gordon!" and other stuff like that.

    impulse 101 also does nothing, just spraying the gun world models across the floor.

    What made Half-Life 2 such a big deal?

    So I have a copy of The Orange Box in the mail right now and I bought it in order to finally play Half-Life 2. Also Portal but that's a different sub so disregard that. Ever since I first heard of it, I've heard nothing but acclaim for it. Half-Life 2 is widely considered to be one of the greatest video games ever created. It's considered a masterpiece. A game-changer. An absolute classic. Without spoiling anything, (as I want my first experience to be totally blind) what exactly made Half-Life 2 so revolutionary? I've played a ton of FPS games, and my goal is not to compare it to ones that came after it, but I'm just curious as to what made it such a big deal.

    Look as we know half life Alyx is a better game then freeman but I think that valve pushed it out after they saw what happened to their cash cow rep after they let the idiot that made freeman and that made them release alyx at the time they did so people will not hate the series as not as they would during the firestorm of hate and capitalized on better VR tech and how most people are at home with more free time now. So long story short hunt down the freeman might have helped put some fire in the half life devs into making something after all this time so they won't have outsiders crapping all over their best selling IP.

    Yea i know this is kinda rambling in nature but hey that's how I think and I wanted to see what I get from the community and to see how I can make a shitpost sound more... how should I say.... well thought out???
