    Does anyone know why Half Life Alyx is choppy for me?

    I will try and list off everything I can.

    For some reason while playing Half Life Alyx it becomes really choppy whenever I move my head around. Initially all aspects of the game had this issue, but eventually the menus started to work just fine. When I open the menu in game it also starts to run smoothly. But in game it is choppy and it makes the game unplayable. Despite this, the game looks just fine on the monitor when I move the headset around. Which makes it even more confusing.

    I have a WMR Lenovo Explorer headset, and every other game works just fine. I have tried to lower all of the settings and the game has remained just as choppy.

    I checked the task manager and it said my CPU usage was at 100%, even though the game seemed to be running ok on the monitor. My CPU should be more than good enough according to what I have googled, which is weird as well. (GPU is only at like 40-50% usage) I also tried to update the drivers, didn't help.

    I will list off my specs below.

    Inspiron7577 laptop

    CPU: i7-7700HQ @ 2.8GHz (8 CPUs)

    GPU: GeForce GTX 1060 with Max-Q Design

    16 GB RAM

    I'm really hoping for a solution to this since HLA is the reason I got VR. Thanks in advance for any help with this.

    I'm quite new to Half Life. I'm planning on getting it as a part of The Orange Box, as well as on Steam within the next few weeks, is the game a horror game and will it be a good game to play for Halloween?
