    And NOT just because they're 3-sided. One was found in Romania (City 17 was located somewhere in Eastern Europe), one in Utah (a US military rocket testing site is located in Utah, called Black Mesa), and one in California (the town in Cali where that one was found has a road in the town called Portal. Portal Road.).

    Anyways thats all I got. If we see monoliths in Michigan or New Mexico (the sites of Aperture Science and Black Mesa, respectively) then we're cooking with gas. Until then, I'm hoping and praying the monoliths aren't the sign of an alien invasion! Happy 2020.

    Half-Life Alyx Ending Theory [SPOILERS]

    Alright so I haven't read many theories so someone else might have pointed this out but I have read some crazy theories about G-Man rewinding time and that causes a bunch of problems so I thought of this: G-Man doesn't rewind time, he forces Alyx to forget everything he said to her in the vault. We can see him achieve this kind of effect during his interruption during Episode 1 when he tells Alyx to "prepare for unforeseen consequences". Then, during the ending of Episode 2 he slows time (just like he did at the end of HL2) brings Alyx into stasis and kills / teleports the Advisor that kills Eli somewhere else. This way it keeps G-Man's powers limited instead of becoming a god.
    I hope this calms some people down over the retcon, cause I quite like the ending. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

    The title says it all. I'm happy for the BMS devs for completing the game. But is this it for Half-Life? Is there no reason to play it anymore because everyone says BMS is so much better?

    I recently got into half life and just played the black mesa remake. I played some of half life 2 a long time ago but I was too young to appreciate what the game was. Should I play blue shift and OpFor before playing HL2?

    Are the Advisors the true form of the "combine"?

    Replayed the game and wondered who the real 'combine' were, I know that's not their name as that's just the name of the soldiers. But the Striders are a different alien race, same with the combine and the weird beatle creatures in the Citadel. Even the combine elite who are shown being right hands to Breen are still just modified humans. But even then the advisors are a mix of technology/creatures.

    So who really was the race that enslaved the Vortigaunts, Xen and Nihilanth and why don't they actually occupy the Citadel in any capacity, and since they don't actually occupy Earth, why do the combine stuck on Earth after the portal gets shut down still insist on following orders?

    Half-Life Update Mod taken down?

    So I've heard about this nifty little mod for HL1, OP4, and BS that adds subtitles and some other touch ups. It sounded cool but apparently Mod DB has been taken it down for seemingly no reason whatsoever. What gives!? Is there someplace else I can download it from?
