Posted: 04 Jun 2021 11:13 AM PDT Hello, fellow crowbar enthusiasts, I just realized, very little, if any fan mods, games, anything really builds on the 7 hour war, except for Hunt Down The Freeman. But of course, that's not really something that can be considered beneficial to the way it should be presented. I've started working on a storyboard and possible ideas for a 7 hour war game. I wanted to go over a possible idea like the TV show 24, in which all of it takes place within 7 hours, of course, the game will be longer for backstory, and epilogue, but I want the majority of the game during that time of the war. So what is my plan? As someone who's only really good with storyboard and idea creation, I have a good idea for mostly how it will go. I want the game to start it's backstory within Half Life 1, specifically within the chapter; Forget About Freeman. It starts with a successful HECU Grunt evacuation return. Approximately a good few years before the combine invasion, if I remember the lore correctly. I want the fact that the US Military being weakened after attacking most of Black Mesa, and then fighting the forces of Xen to show how such a thing would impact the 7 hour war. After all, they are retreating. It then starts with a Veteran within a big city, Possibly New York or New Jersey, to show how much time has passed before the Combine Invasion. Why a veteran? Because they'll have weaponry, and it won't be so much of a military shooter, but instead a tense and almost dread inducing experience with just how visually insane the invasion would be. The game will take place from the beginning to the end of the 7 hour war, no cutscenes, and 7 hours of gameplay, it will go with traditional Half Life 2 gameplay and teaching, as well as a constant progress system, no fade to blacks, no transitions, simple progress and simple gameplay. Why make this post? I want to ask for help on this project, which I am going to call; Project 7. For simplicity. I need experienced people in modelling, animation, and of course, programming. As I said, I'm really good with writing and storyboards and not necessarily the others. That's the post. Obviously, there is much more to cover, but this is just a draft. I hope this is well formatted and concise, and intriguing to everyone. I would love feedback, ideas, and of course, concerns and criticism.
