    Everything works fine, but when I get to the start menu and click new game, there are no chapters and the start new game button doesn't do anything, how do I fix this?

    Half-life 1 - Replay

    So, I haven't replayed the original Half-life in decades. I just stated it last weekend and I have to say it's still very playable. Yes the graphics are dated but it really doesn't distract from how great the game was. The atmosphere and environments were really phenomenal for the time. The story was there too, but not in your face like most games today. I'm really enjoying my adventure and uncovering different parts of Black Mesa.

    I'm also filled with sadness that valve allowed this franchise to die. Leaving it on a cliffhanger is really a tragedy for gamers. The fan base has done wonderful things, but those original developers had something magical and it's a shame they let it fester.

    Ahh well.. I'm going to relive my childhood regardless.

    How long did it take to install the original Half-Life back in 1998?

    I downloaded the game from Steam, taking just a few seconds to finish, so I got curious how long it took back in the day, but I can't seem to find anything about it online.

    Any oldschool fans here that know roughly how long it took?

    I was verifying another bug (https://www.reddit.com/r/HalfLife/comments/dnp1z2/is_anybody_elses_episode_two_soundtrack/) when I noticed that the video recapping episode one doesn't play upin starting a new game. (This video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEerUnV3QQ0). It also doesn't appear in the more recent walkthroughs posted to youtube. Is this a bug or was this removed intentionally by Valve?

    Names for Alien Grunts and Alien Controllers similar to Vortigaunts

    Alien Slaves are now widely accepted as Vortigaunts due to Half Life 2. But since Alien Grunts (makes no sense, they would be helping the Resistance too since they are in the same genus as Vortigaunts and Vortigaunts could control them now that they are free), and Alien Controllers didn't appear (makes sense, the Nihilanth is dead), they should get a name.

    Alien Grunt/Vortispave: Based on the logic for Vortigaunt, I came with Vortispave. Take out the vorti and you get Gaunt. replace the a with r and you get grunt. So I took the original Vortigaunts name, Alien Slave, and replaced l with p. Vortispaves are a good name for Alien Grunts.

    Alien Controller/Nihirector: Since Alien Controllers are the Nihilanth with less power and smaller, which are dedicated to controlling Vortigaunts, I took Nihi- and used a Latin term for Controller which is rector.

    What do you think of these names.

    It seems like it is separate from the Halloween sale, however it is only for 40%, not the usual 60%. Do yall think it will drop to 60% within a few days?
