    Half-Life 2 fanfiction/mod idea

    So I was playing Half Life 2 a lot recently, and I thought of a mod that would be centered around the vehicle sections in HL2 and E2.

    It would start with you playing as Barney in Episode 1 after Freeman got the crowbar.. you would get trough a few buildings, and would end up at the train station. But becouse Barney isn't in E2, i thought he would get hurt or something and "left behind", he would pass out.. Then, two rebels would find him just before the citadel exploded and they would find a car, similar to the broken prop_physics types in hl1. From there on, you would play as one of the rebels. After Barney would tell you, that you need to get to White forest, you will get on the way. You will ride trough a few villages, occasionally exit and shoot enemies, find some gas for the car, fight off a chopper or a strider etc.. Around the half of the game, you would get on the edge of White Forest. You would drive near the locations Gordon visited when he got the jalopy in E2, and it would end with you and Barney getting to the rocket silo, moments after the rocket launched. You would meet Kleiner and he would tell about Eli's death. trough the whole game, except of the first part, barney would be lying on the back seat of the car and at the end, would get healed and leave with Alyx and Gordon to the north pole.

    Can't open console in half life

    As the button to open the console in HL2 can only be found on american/british keyboards, I guess, I have to change the button necessary in the settings, but no matter which one I choose, the console wont open anyway, how can I open it? I know I can type -console in launch properties but I'd like to know how to do it with the keyboard
