    First of all, i loved what they've done with Xen, the first part being a beautiful world full of life, then arriving at Gonarch, the world suddenly becomes lifeless and menacing, and absolutely terrifying in Interloper, it's the perfect occasion to see how The Combine can affect a world, also the Vorts being slaves and the Grunts a bio-engineered species is now way more obvious.

    As a BIG HL Fan, although i appreciated the original Xen (Unlike many other people) i think BM's Xen is far better, it connects to the lore in a good manner, introducing new mechanics and different elements without breaking it, it's expanded, varied, challenging, and goes from marvelous to dark and spooky but always keep being fascinating, and i f*cking loved the platforming, and the Long Jump Module !!

    Also Gonarch... You son of a b*tch lol, going from a 10mn dull combat to an Epic and spectacular long boss fight that i didn't want to end, and Nihilanth, my god The Nihilanth... Just go play the f*cking game !!

    I won't speak about the rest of the game, since we all know it, it's faithful without being identical, rather a re imaging than a simple remake with good graphics, you can feel both Valve and Crowbar Collective styles melting like they're the same studio, absolutely wonderful for a fan to witness such a thing, how fortunate we are !!

    Black Mesa is phenomenal and it confirms that HL has the most dedicated, talented, passionate community in gaming history, and i want to provide my Con list just to maybe help improve the game, since the game is still in beta, i wont discuss things like bugs and performance issues :

    - The Bullsquids are not as agressive and dangerous as those encountered in the original game, they used to scare the hell out of me when they charge you full speed, now they're just staring at you like idiots while vomiting their acid, and they are much slower

    - The Houndeyes have some weird and harsh animations, mostly in transition from an animation to an other, it's ugly to watch and fighting them is sometimes a pain in the a*s.

    - The Alpha Houndeye deserve more attention, i think it dont add anything special to the classic one

    - The gore and dismemberment are a bit too much, hope they'll add an option to disable them to make it more like HL2, just blood (maybe there's a way but i just didn't notice ?? let me know please)

    - Interloper is very very long, and can be very very difficult at times even in medium difficulty, some balancing is needed ASAP, also some texture work feels like rushed in that particular level and there are A LOT of cable plugging puzzles

    - I miss the old On The Rail level, i know there is an Uncut version in the Workshop, but i want it to be packaged with the game

    - Navigation through irregular terrain in Xen is sometimes infuriating, a small rock can block you, it also applies to some parts like when you want to get out of water

    - I liked the music for the most part, especially on Xen, but i think sometimes it doesn't nail the atmosphere of HL, matter of taste of course but it's the only aspect of the game that i think is downgraded, i don't expect Kelly Bailey to work on it but i'll definitely try to find a way to change some tracks lol

    - Those particles when you shoot an HEV Zombie are a bit dated and are not up to BM's standards, and the Crossbow deserves a better scope, it's better than the old one, buuuuut can be better

    - Why grenades have sparks when throwed ? :\

    - Why does someone put a lot of tripmines in that section of Xen where they are a lot of these explosive plants ??

    - When a Controller spawns near Vorts, it controls some of them, but the rest keep doing their stuff like there's nothing, i don't know if it's a glitch or something, but making them running or scared like in that scene when they're bullied by Grunts is more consistent

    - Finally, the Crowbar has too much hit rate making you look like a f*cking meth psycho

    In the original Half Life you eventually discover that the scientists have kidnapped and preformed experiments on multiple aliens. I never really realized until recently that WE were the aliens abducting THEM. We invaded them before they invaded us.

    EDIT: Additionally, I think we were the ones with the better tech too. If memory serves, when the aliens got into fights with the marines, the marines would usually win.

    I have the feeling that the term “We don’t go Ravenholm anymore” will have more meaning after Half Life: Alyx comes out. Ever since I heard Alyx say that in HL2, I always thought the way she said it gave off the impression that she was there when it turned into what we see now.

    If any of you have played Black Mesa Xen, didja find those floating transparent blobs? Sometimes they follow you around in the area! They rub up against you and make the cutest little noises! THEY'RE SO ADORABLE!!!! <3

    I wanna take one home with me! I want there to be an option where the blob will follow me to the Combine future and travel with me alllllll the way to the helicopter hanger! Forget the Gnome! I want a floating Xen blob!

    what if you removed a headcrab from a zombie

    I know they say they're impossible to remove but what if you disconnected the "teeth" of a live zomble (disconnecting its arms and legs so it can't hurt you, the zombie can't bite you because the headcrab is in the way, Use scissors to only cut the headcrab regardless, under any situation if a headcrab is removed from a zombie what do you think would happen, would it become a human again and instantly die due to their organs being exposed, would it turn into a crabless zombie? what do you think?

    HL:A for PSVR?

    Im wondering if HL:A is coming to PSVR. I know there's a bit till the game releases and lots of games announced other supported platforms after the original trailer. So I'm hoping it's coming soon. Anyone else hoping a PSVR version will come?

    My game will sudenly start looking like this after some loading screens, is my first time playing half life 2 and this bug has already ruined the meeting with dog and is also ruining the end of raveholm. Can someone tell me how to fix this?? pls I need help
