    After replaying this game in preparation for Alyx (and to completely experience all the chapters this time after the beta) I'm in awe as to how beautiful the environment of xen is. So many blue lights in different variations, glowing crystals, the former staff of black mesa who died on expeditions there, vibrant colors but in a way of not being too bright but setting the tone just right for an inhospitable environment full of dangers but at the same time, ponds which heal you... God, I just love this franchise, so many young people missing on this universe.

    What was Valve's reaction to Black Mesa (Xen included)?

    I've been curious to know how Valve has responded to Black Mesa, including Xen. I'm especially curious to know Gabe Newell's reaction. I hope Valve was blown away.

    As you all saw yesterday, I finished my second(I'm not a fan of back to back playthroughs, has to be months apart) playthrough of the Half-Life series. I still can not shake the feeling that we were robbed. There are literally people who have DIED waiting on a conclusion to this great series. Sure we got Epistle 3, but we wanted to see it come to fruition. A physical form. Many have lost hope, including myself occasionally. But then, a spark happened. Half-Life: Alyx was announced. Sure, fanboys, it's not Episode 3. It's not even from the POV of The Freeman. But it's a spark. We haven't received a SHRED of word on the HL universe since Ep. 2 was released. But now, 13 years later, we hear from Valve. They're showing genuine interest in this series again. They even alluded to Ep. 3 in the HL: A trailer. They know we want it. There is a spark. A chance. So, brothers, sisters, we must persevere, for the Combine's reckoning will arrive very soon. Do not lose hope. Take a moment of silence for our fallen friends who didn't live to see this day. Truly. And give thanks. We are the community that now decides if Valve will continue on after HL: A. The Resistance is in our hands.

    TL;DR, The Half-Life series left us heartbroken and yearning for more, but don't give up. We have a new spark from Valve.
