Posted: 24 Apr 2020 09:18 PM PDT In the intro of Half-Life, the Black Mesa Transit System mentions the current topside temperature at 08:47 a.m. is 93 degrees Fahrenheit, with an estimated high of 105 degrees. Using this line, I began researching potential dates with the sufficient temperatures at the correct times. First of all, we need to understand exactly where the Black Mesa facility is. According the map in Anomalous Materials, the Black Mesa Research Facility is located in southern New Mexico, roughly near the city of El Paso, Texas. Using a weather history database, I was able to find the daily temperatures for El Paso, Texas. Immediately, I noticed the hottest month was July, were temperatures between 90 to 100 degrees can be expected. After about an hour of skimming through the summer months of 1998 - 2009, I was able to confirm one date that had temperatures closest to the intro of Half-Life 1. July 12, 1998 had a high of 105 degrees, and a daily average of 93 degrees. This corresponds with the intro tram ride of Half-Life, as well as Black Mesa's late nineties technology. What do you all think about this theory? I know Valve has given a date of 200- in the Half-Life instruction manuals, but I couldn't find any matching temperatures in the 2000's. Feel free to share your own ideas. [link] [comments] | ||

General Half Life universe discussion. Posted: 24 Apr 2020 08:46 PM PDT So I always wanted to start a thread about these unanswered questions and see if some of you have answers. I'll put them in numerical order so it's easier to answer. 1.After HL Ep2, does the Resistance have the upper hand and how does the HLA ending change things? 2.Borealis. In general what it is and why it's such a wildcard? 3. Do you guys think we might get to see Shepard since we now know Valve keeps track of everything for the sake of the story.
Tbh I didn't use reddit in the past or this subreddit so this is my first post. If I did something wrong or if I didn't spell something correctly I apologize. [link] [comments] |
