    Half-Life 3 Theories(HL:A SPOILERS)

    Based on the ending of Half-Life Alyx, I have come up with a couple of theories and questions(that will most likely remain unanswered until the game's release) on what the plot of Half-Life 3 is, so here they are:

    It's extremely possible that the events of Half-Life: Alyx has created an entirely new timeline within the Half-Life universe where Eli Vance's life was saved at the end of Half-Life 2 Episode 2 and Alyx Vance was taken by the GMan the second Alyx and the GMan messed with the timeline.

    This makes me get the feeling that in Half-Life 3, the main antagonists won't just be the Combine Empire, but also the GMan himself. This leads me to more questions - who are the GMan's employers, and why are they active in all of this? Why did the GMan bring in the crystal that would eventually open a portal in Black Mesa leading to Xen, and just hours later, making the Earth be under the rule of the Combine Empire, with loads of Xen life spread across the planet?

    What exactly happened to Alyx? How would Gordon and Eli find her when she could be dimensions away and there would be no way to find her(that we know of) even if they can use the borealis to travel across dimensions? Does the borealis allow time travel or is it even functional?
