[Question]: Mike Shapiro (voice of Barney and G-Man)

    Posted: 08 Dec 2020 08:52 PM PST

I don't know if this has been asked here already, but has that "blast from the past" project from Mike been confirmed to be Valve-related? If so, what do you think of it?

Am I the only one who thinks that the cliff skybox is terrifying? There is just something so unsettling about it, maybe the low quality river and the mist in the back.

Honest to God never before seen HLA easter egg. (I think)

    Posted: 08 Dec 2020 07:20 PM PST

So on my latest playthrough of HLA I had an extra encounter with Russell's drone. It was right after the shadow women finishes talking to the Combine advisers and the Combine use a grenade to blow up the brick wall so alyx can get out. I wasn't recording as this was my 4.5th playthrough and thought I'd seen everything but I'll do my best to recount everything that happened along with the details of the easter egg:

    -Shadow lady finishes her conversation.

-Alyx and co talk about how the vault must hold Gorden Freeman.

-1st combine walks by the hole in the wall in which you can see the shadow lady's shadow and I nab his grenade.

-I shoot his gas tank and he explodes.

-Other combine are alerted to my location.

-I hear the beeping of Russell's drone.

-Grenade is audibly activated and I see the light through the cracks in the brick wall.

-Russell's drone flies by the view hole and stops for a second before flying towards the elevator shaft.

-Drone explodes around the same time as the grenade.

I'm writing this seconds after the events occurred but I'll do my best to find some evidence of this as I'm sure people are skeptical. I looked it up, but I couldn't find out if people knew about this already. Wish me luck in finding this again! (Gonna reload the save, I'll keep you posted in the comments).

Half-Life 2 was Game of the Decade by the public at VGA 2012, Gabe and other Valve devs were here (I watched it live and people thought the G-man thing was a HL3 announcement...)

    Headcrab origin

    Posted: 08 Dec 2020 01:45 PM PST

What did the headcrabs originally do? When they are on Xen what kind of creatures did they latch onto? The closest thing on Xen to a human is a vortigaunt but their heads are shaped differently and we never see a headcrab on a vortigaunt so who did they feed off of?

    A little Gman theory

    Posted: 08 Dec 2020 10:07 PM PST

Has anyone else thought that the Gman may in some way be related to the borealis. there's not much to really support this other then both have the ability to teleport in and out of time and space on their own, maybe the Gman was a side effect created by the borealis, like a ripple made by a splash in the water, maybe Gman IS the borealis personified. Idk it's just a thought
