    I mean, in HL1 yeah, but in HL2? He doesn't know what half this stuff is. Everyones talking about antlions and Gordon is just sitting there listening to how theres a ton of them that are really on edge. The whole game is just Gordon going "oh dang I guess we're doing this now" because the alternative is death. Guy got given a bunch of smelly sacks and told to storm a high security prison and did it. I mean the second he arrived in city 17 he was pretty much a wanted criminal. Gordons just kinda on the verge of a panic attack at all times because in the span of two weeks for him, he caused the apocalypse, saw a bunch of his friends and work colleagues die (and even caused some of their deaths), learned that what is basically magic and incredibly powerful beings beyond his comprehension exist, destroyed a city, and basically overthrew an alien empire. I think its safe to say his mental health has probably taken quite a toll.
