Textless Half Life Posters I Made!

here are the textless versions of the posters i made, so you can use them on your phone!

unfortunaly, the actual pics inside the project did not have high resolutions, so i don't think there are going to be high res versions of the posters.

    anyways, thanks for passing by!

There's a Black Mesa logo in the trailer in one of the screens. Look from the below of your screen.

With HL: A’s release nearing, what brought you to the Half-Life Universe? What’s your Half-Life story?

So I used to live in the Philippines and there's a bunch of Internet cafes there with a ton of pre-installed games. Counter-Strike 1.3, Source, Left 4 Dead 1 and 2, and Half-Life 1 are one of them. Of course, as a kid, I like guns so I would boot up Counter-Strike to play with friends via LAN and sometimes with bots. A few years later, my brother and cousin introduced me to Left 4 Dead which started my fascination with the Source Engine. Downloaded a bunch of Source Engine which led me to downloading pirated GMod (which worked standalone because it's pirated).

I got curious about the characters and creatures in the spawn menu especially the Striders, Antlion Guards, and the GMan. I watched videos of GMod machinimas like the GMod Idiot Box series until in some shape or form, the HL3 Confirmed meme was starting to spice up.

Curious me downloaded a pirated version of Half-Life 2 expecting it to be some weird-ass horror game. Reason being is that years before, I would play with random games on internet cafes and I remember being scared as hell on the Black Mesa train ride of Half-Life 1. It was an eerie introduction with that eerie background music playing just a few seconds after seeing the Half-Life logo. I would also like to thank that old Valve logo, that thing gave me the goosebumps. But slightly older me decided to give the series a try with Half-Life 2 because of my love with the Source Engine.

Wow, I was blown away. It took me several months later after I beat the game to realize that there's an Episode 1 and 2 and I was like (oh boy more Half-Life content)! I downloaded them and I thought the stories of the Episodes were deeper and had a more emotional impact to me especially with Alyx. After that, I downloaded the Half-Life 1 series with the spin-offs and they were pretty fun. I remember not liking the Blast Pit section and the underground monorail ride in the later chapters. I did like the Xen chapter tho.

Ever since, I waited for a sequel. Followed several Half-Life content creators like VNN. Watched some first time Half-Life players. And even watched some episodes of Freeman's Mind. Years and years later, I moved on. Played CS:GO, Team Fortress 2, Portal 2, and Left 4 Dead 2 which all became my go-to games. Participated in the Half-Life community especially during the Black Mesa development days. Replayed the Source games with different mods. Introduced Half-Life to a couple of friends and cousins. Played a little of Dota 2 because it's a Valve game even though I'm not a fan of MOBAs or Action RTS. A ton of games from different devs came to me with all not meeting with the Half-Life series' standards.

But yeah, years later, here we are. I already have a job, got a monster PC compared to that shitty laptop I used to play all the Half-Life games on, and got a VR headset two months before the Half-Life: Alyx announcement. While this is not Half-Life 3, at least we're getting some new Half-Life content from Valve themselves and I can't wait to be a part of Half-Life history.

Edit: By the time I started earning money, I bought the entire series and is now a part of my Steam library. :)

Playing Valve's tech demo 'The Lab' has me especially excited for HL:A now.

    Posted: 27 Feb 2020 11:30 AM PST

I recently upgraded my PC, and got my first VR headset (Occulus Rift S) a couple days ago. So far my experience with VR has been amazing, and trying out all the mini-games in The Lab, has restored my faith in Valve. The Lab came out 4 years ago, so I can only imagine how far they have come in developing immersive experiences in VR. I especially enjoyed the game 'Secret Shop' which had minimal interaction, but did an amazing job of putting you into a world, unlike the one we live in.

It still feels very surreal, that after 12 years of waiting for new Half-Life content, it will finally arrive in under a month.

    Money

    Posted: 27 Feb 2020 01:17 PM PST

For the first time in my life, I won't be able to play a new Half-Life game on launch day.

I don't have a rig (with minimum specs) and VR hardware that can run HL: Alyx, and no money to pay for the requisite parts.

    This sucks.
