    Half-Life 3, theories and Alyx ending recap

    Look, I get this topic has probably been exhausted to the very max at this point but I want to know. It's been almost a year since the release of Half-Life Alyx and with that given this subreddits name you most likely have seen its ending so for those of you who have I want to try to figure this out. Half-Life Alyx's ending ends with Alyx releasing the G-man instead of who she assumed was Gordon Freeman, G-Man goes through his dialogue explaining to Alyx what she has just done, he then offers Alyx a deal, offer her services of to those similar that Gordon Freeman had served until his recent "refusal of cooperation" as the G-man puts it and she receives something she does not yet know she wants, that something being the saving of her father Eli Vance before the Combine Advisor kills him in Half-Life 2: Episode 2, Alyx quickly agrees as she shoots the Combine Advisor with her gravity glove which was charged with Vortigaunt energy after which she is placed in stasis and the last thing you hear from her is her pleading as she does not realize what she has done. However, after the credits roll and the player is left in assumingly shock after what has just occurred they hear a hopefully familiar voice, the HEV suit and its all to familiar line, due to Alyx's antic of killing the Combine Advisor you wake up as Gordon right at the ending of Half-Life 2: Episode 2 and Eli is franticly looking around as if something is missing and Gordon soon realizes as well, Alyx is missing, due to her killing the Combine Advisor and thus signing a deal with G-man and with Half-Life Alyx being a prequel Alyx was never there during the events of Half Life 2 and subsequent episodes but she was there until she killed the advisor then she almost blinked out of existence Eli quickly notices that Gordon is alive and pulls him to his feet, Eli then say "he took her, son of a bitch and his unforeseen consequences", DOG is standing behind Eli now and hands him an all to familiar weapon, Gordon's Crowbar, in which Eli promptly hands it to Gordon and say "C'mon Gordon, we've got work to do" and the screen fades to white. Well that's a recap of the Half-Life Alyx ending and how surreal it was but this still begged me with a question similar to the ending of Half-Life 2: Episode 2's ending it is left with a cliffhanger but with Alyx's ending it took Episode 2's ending and completely flipped it on its head meaning that there is still chance for a Half-Life 3 but what I want is input and theories in comments and whatnot i will add mine in this here and I will excited read and commented theory as well. My theory with Half-Life 3 is this it has to be happening not surely after another cliffhanger at almost the same end point but I theorize this remember when the infamous Epistle 3 writing was released by a writer who had left Valve well I recently remembered that the main objective of that game was getting the the Aperture science ship the Borealis but there was a certain thing i remembered that the ship could teleport not just through space but through time as well and here is meat of my theory what if Half-Life 3 has a different meaning but the same objective Eli and Gordon use the ship and research and develop it until it is used to try in an attempt to save Alyx from G-man thus starting some sort of fight or battle ending with the G-man's death and possibly other characters in which the series comes to a close finally after 24-ish years and Half-Life quiets, but that's just my theory I want to hear more as I'm extremely adamant about this like this in which ideas and theories are exchanged i really hope people use this to talk about this topic as it is super fun in my eyes, but I hope you feel the same and really hope to reading some theories have a good one. :)

    Is it ok to play alyx before half life 2 since it’s an prequel?

    I've already played some half life 2 (to the point I meet dog and get my gravity gun) and I've wanted to play alyx for so long. Should I go at it? I already played half life 1
