    After 22 years, my dad finally played Half-Life 2.

    Back in 1998, my dad was a huge fan of FPS games, Quake, Doom, Duke Nukem, he loved them all, and when he heard about Half-Life a few days after the release, a game full of story and puzzles, like nothing he had seen before, he immediately wanted it. He loved the game and also played a bit of the expansion packs.

    He never got a chance to play Half-Life 2, due to mostly being busy, (while I was experiencing the games for the first time) but he finally got around to buying and playing the game recently. He tried out 2 chapters and already has been enjoying it. He recognized Barney from Blue Shift and Kleiner because he looked like one of the original scientists. He said he will definitely be playing more, and I'm very excited to see what he thinks of the rest of the game.

    (I also think it's pretty funny that it took him 22 years to play the next game after the first, and Gordon was in stasis for 20 years)

    A rant about Half-Life and gameplay mediums

    I'm not here to trash Half-Life Alyx, but instead to provide another angle about its medium that can be kinda odd in retrospect.

    Half-Life Alyx is an essential part of the overall Half-Life narrative, but it takes place in a different medium from previous games. However, many want future games to be in 2D. This would leave Alyx in an awkward position where it's almost like a "nuisance" since the player has to switch protagonists, peripherals, and time period to understand the future narrative which remains 2D and traditional.

    I find this a little odd, since it'd basically require the player to "disrupt" their story and gameplay momentum with a VR prequel to then resume the status quo in the future again.

    Help with opposing forces

    I just downloaded opposing forces again on my PC. For some reason I can't use my mouse to look around, I have to use the arrow keys which makes my life hell. If you know how to change this please tell me.
